Watch for a Midweek Boost in Energy

Markups are over, and by Wednesday we should see money flowing into oil and gas.

Logically, oil should get a breather. The markups were finished yesterday -- why can't the conventional media get it through their heads that managers no longer chance marking up on the last day of the quarter?

The markup mind-set means don't do anything other than bid-side today, and weak bid-side. That also means on Monday that it isn't such a good idea to try to come back and buy your same names.

In fact, some of the people who did pure markups like to kick out the excess on Monday, so I think that the group could be down again that day.
